Strandlines
Julie has a passion for combining stories, history and words in song. As part of the Cabinet of Artists in the Strandlines project for King’s College, London, Julie set new music to lyrics she found from the 18th century. She accompanied herself on piano and also looping pedal. As part of the Cabinet, she performed in St Mary Le Strand and also as part of a digital walking tour for the festival of Arts & Humanities at King’s College.
Her song, The Bells of St Clements, on the album Light on the Ledge, was inspired while working on this project.

Rythme Futur
Julie is the vocalist for Gypsy Jazz band Rythme Futur. Led by bassist George Trebar, the band recorded the album Yesterdays, on which Julie’s vocals feature. Her involvement with the band builds on a love of early, swinging jazz, and follows her time as a vocalist with hot Chicago Jazz band, the Bright Stars of Jazz, with whom she performed on the BBC.
As part of Rythme Futur, Julie has performed at numerous events and festivals including the City of London festival, Boisdale jazz club, Chelsea Arts Club, Le QuecumBar, The Underground Theatre and the Aegon Tennis Championships in Eastbourne.
